CHENGDU, Jan. 10 (NBD) -- China's GDP accounting will switch to a two-step approach from the previous three-step process, says a statement released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Monday. 

Preliminary verification will be eliminated for both annual and quarterly accounting of GDP. 

Under the new system, the preliminary accounting results of GDP will be unveiled at the annual news conference on the national economy operation in January of the following year, while the final verification data will be released by the NBS after another year in the form of announcement.
