CHENGDU, Jan.4 (NBD) -- A-shares moved up on the first trading day of 2017, with Shanghai Composite up 1.04% and Shenzhen composites 0.84%.

NBD noticed that security deposits totaled 88.1 billion yuan in December of 2016, with net capital inflow keeping positive for three consecutive months.

Analysts say that residual funds decreased after settlements, indicating investors are moving their money to stocks.

Yang Hai, senior analyst of Kaiyuan Securities, expects a positive outlook for the A-share market in 2017. It will bottom out soon and individual stocks are going to rise, fluctuating between 2800 to 3600 points, he added.
