CHENGDU, Dec.27 (NBD) -- Zhou Jintao, chief economist of China Securities Co., Ltd died of cancer at age 44 on Wednesday.

As a pioneer working on Kondratieff waves in China, he successfully predicted the subprime mortgage crisis in 2007. He also foresaw that global asset prices would fluctuate after 2015 and China's economy would bottom out at the first quarter of 2016.
