On July 2015, National Copyright Administration of China forbad unauthorized music products to spread, resulting 2.2 million songs removed from online music platforms. China's music industry ushered in its "paid music service age".

On the China Music Industry Development Summit held at Chengdu yesterday, Xu Peidong, vice chairman of Chinese Musicians Association expressed his concerns about the future of music industry in China. He noted that commercialization of music is a double-edged sword. It's hard to strike a balance between art and commerce. He later told NBD that he plans to submit a proposal relating to music copyright laws to help standardize the music industry and protect innovation as well next year.

Jiang Shan, funder of Rainbow said paying for music products and services is a trend, but still has a long way to go. It needs endeavors of all parties to set the music industry right on track.
