CHENGDU, Dec. 16 (NBD) -- As a 900 million yuan (about 129.59 million US dollars) aircraft project, the construction of Aircraft Maintenance Base is divided into three phases. With the completion of the first phase, the base will be able to maintain 300 engines, which brings a total output of 900 million US dollars. The capacity of maintenance will upgrade to 600 engines after the second base is built.

According to the Jiangsu Construction Engineering Group’s officer, 75% of total engineering work has been completed. The installation and test of infrastructures including cleaning line and slide system is expected to be completed by this month and the first base is expected to be completed by next May.

As planned, Sichuan International Aircraft Maintenance Base will become the largest aircraft maintenance base in Asia, which promotes achievement of Shuangliu county’s goal of national airport economic demonstration zone.
